Character Summary: Natsume died. And he watched as people poured into his funeral to lay white lilies on his dead body, four in particular sticking out to him - his friends. As he watches each of their stories unfold, their meetings with Mamiya, and their eventual deaths, powerless to stop any of them. As a spectator in the afterlife, it is his job to watch each of these stories and determine their "truths". But knowing his friends die leaves him wanting more, and finds out from an anonymous source that he may be able to intervene with their stories to save them. But... there may be consequences.

Determined to save everyone to let them live their lives to the fullest, Natsume unwaveringly decides to risk his life and afterlife to save them, entering into their stories a second time into the body of an otherwise nameless bystander. He gives his name, out of a selfish need to still be called Natsume by the others, convincing them to gather every Friday for a month while he tries to keep them away from Mamiya and find a way to spare their lives and keep them from falling into despair. But Mamiya knows who he is and what he's up to...

Natsume has the kind of energy to draw others to him. He's generous and even easily entertained. He values those close to him and wants them to live happy lives, and believes that even in the face of the world's end that there is hope. He's happy to get to talk to them and spend time with them again, even if they don't know who he is. However, while his main goal is to save his friends, he sees Mamiya in others' stories, and wishes to stop Mamiya altogether and keep him from hurting anyone else entirely. He easily expresses all that he's feeling, sometimes embarrassed by his own outbursts, but this also means he's genuine all of the time. He doesn't think his lies through and has a hard time coming up with stories on the spot.

AU History:
Darian was born in England to parents who are well-established in their fields; his mother being a business analyst and his father a lawyer. As such, Darian was well taken care of and wanted for very little. As the field of Dreamers continues to grow, both of his parents made the decision to move to Japan to advance their careers and work with Dreamers, ultimately supporting the Dreamer Union. The move occured within Darian's second year of primary school, and Darian is able to fluently speak Japanese and English as a result.

In Darian's youth, he idolised the private investigators displayed in stories, via tv shows, books, comics, and games. And while it wasn't all rainbows and sunshine, he persevered to learn everything about private investigating, get certified, and make his way from the ground up. His parents contributed to his dream by paying for his schooling and for advertisements to help him get off the ground. To this day, he holds on to much of the merchandise from his favourite stories, from comic books to figurines to clothing.

Darian had grown well within his field, and as he succeeded in more and more cases, he eventually came acrost his first mission with a real criminal. Over the last year, Darian was enlisted by the police to help with locating a missing person and was given the suspect's information, in hopes of bringing the case to a close before it was too late. He followed the suspect to a pier one evening to find a business transaction that seemed to be taking place. Amongst them was a person he couldn't identify due to a bag covering their face. Darian called in the events to the police, but with the deal closing, Darian acted on his own to stop the events and save the person.

He fought his best while protecting the unidentified person, but since he was outnumbered, he fell after a blow to the head with a blunt tool. This would cause Darian to fall comatose. The police did manage to arrive in time to save the person, arrest the criminals involved, and have enough information for a proper court case through Darian's notes. Because of this, the suspects were successfully locked away.

During his comatose state, a few weeks in, Darian dreamt of his friends being killed by a mysterious creature, taking each of them one by one as they gave in to despair. Darian, wanting to rewrite their stories so that they may live happy, fulfilling lives, awoke as Dreamer Revision. His awakening as a Dreamer also brought him out of his coma, where he then underwent treatments for any sustaining damage that may have followed.

Darian was quick to check on his friends during his recovery, reaching the conclusion that the dream was probably trauma-related. However, the dream still made him fear not just for his own life going forward, but the lives of his friends being in danger as well. He thought some of his cases might use his friends for leverage or revenge. With that in mind, he decided to retire much earlier from being a private investigator. His family supports him in this and he is taking a needed break while he decides what his next niche is going to be and works on making sure there are no side effects to the head injury he took.

While Darian believes the dream he had was certainly trauma-related, he does not deny his awakening as a Dreamer, and has quickly signed up with the DU to learn more about these new powers. He has told his family and closest friends that he is a brand new Dreamer and has received their mutual support with getting everything started and to give him his best chance at success.

AU Personality:
Since Darian grew up in a happy, loving, and supportive environment, he has much been allowed to be himself. As such, he is often filled with smiles and a dream to make the world a better place. This took root in wanting to be a private investigator, where he could stop the bad guys and help the good ones with their most personal needs. Throughout his childhood, he read anything he could get his hands onto for private investigation and dove himself into the career with gusto.

Thanks to Darian's field of study, he is observant and can pick up on subtle cues that others might miss. And he tries to use this to his advantage when talking to others. However, Darian has a strong need to help others. And this may display in patterns that no one asked for. Such as buying something for a stranger, or taking on burdens that aren't his to bear, to trying to meet the needs of others he thinks he sees. As such, he seems to have developed a bit of a hero complex. With his parents' influence, his strong sense of justice shines through, while his organisation skills help keep him focused and capable to execute those ends for justice.

Darian tends to be a rather open individual, as well. He wears his emotions on his sleeve and tends to find it hard to lie when caught in a question. He's more prone to falling quiet and letting people assume what they want of him than to say anything directly, if the need to lie comes up. Darian is usually understanding and friendly, but it becomes obvious when he's distressed. While certainly not quick to anger, he will not hide it when he becomes so. He does not take the wellbeing of others lightly, especially when it comes to his friends.

Darian is facing recent confusion, with all that's happened. Between the trauma and waking up as a Dreamer, he finds himself to be in a bit of a daze. Now that he's dropped his childhood dream, he really doesn't know where to begin next. While he's internally excited to be able to help the world in another way, he also feels like his feet have been swept out from beneath him to get a grasp on his life. As his recovery progresses, he'll dive more and more into being a dedicated Dreamer, so that he can feel useful in some way to the world.

Other AU Changes: While Darian is confused about his situation, I do plan to have him realise later that being a Private Investigator is his calling all along. He's just got a hiccough going on in his development after his first life-or-death situation. His (former) company was called Stealth Shield Investigations.

Revise: Can rewrite time up to the last few seconds in order to change the outcome of an instant, such as altering someone being attacked to being narrowly missed or grazed or taking a less lethal blow instead, or noticing a trap just in time to act more accordingly, such as rescuing from a fall. It cannot be used to entirely rewrite scenarios, such as no monsters at all or similar. Limited to changing outcomes only slightly.

Quote: Ensnares a single enemy into imitating Revision for the duration of a small handful of seconds, allowing other team members to charge up attacks or other necessary actions.
